Artist Statement

A student of contraction and expansion, Veronica (she/they) makes what’s heavy light — studying catharsis and intimacy to expand possibility. Vero lives a genre defying life, collaging until completion, stitching together various mediums until even the darkest corners of an idea have been explored.

Veronica creates as a ritual of devotion. She is committed to the global healing: returning the mind to the body and tending to reciprocity with all beings. They hope their work contributes to illuminating how Western technoculture suppresses the radical potential of human creativity, collaboration, and spirit, while also imagining alternatives.

Current of Manifestation

  • Pull of Soul and Body

  • Moves toward Form, Density, Boundaries, Contraction, & Individuality

Crown (thought): Here we understand. At the crown rests our higher self, our divinity. We are the witness, awareness itself in union with the cosmos.

Third eye (light): Here we learn to see, to have patience long enough to find what we’re seeking. This is the realm of image, dreams, archetypes, and intuition. We animate symbols and play with light.

Throat (sound): At the throat, we listen and express to find resonance. We collaborate with silence to create poetry, to speak Truth.

Heart (air): At the heart, we rely on our breath to remain porous — in balance, in relationship — moving between internal and external when needed.

Solar (fire): At the solar plexus, the current of liberation and manifestation meet to transform energy into action. Here we develop ego to realize our autonomy and separateness. Will power is rays pointing towards the next most necessary steps.

Sacral (water): The sacral is the realm of movement where we feel our emotions to completion. Here we experience pleasure without purpose and play without productivity. Sensation gives us value and distinction, forming our tastes. We’re instinctually moved by colors, sounds, energy. Our dance becomes the poetic body.

Root (earth): Here we find safety, containment and boundaries, confronting the physical limitations of form. We liberate matter by reshaping it: firing clay, soldering metal, dyeing fabric, painting with pigment.
