Energy
Work
To create the conditions for transformation — within and without — energy must be able to move freely through the whole body.
☯ Using reiki, guided meditations, and oracle cards, I focus my energy work on the chakra system, balancing your energetic centers to help you lead a more peaceful and authentic life. ☯

What is reiki?
Reiki was developed in Japan by Dr. Mikao Usui as a method of light hands-on healing in which universal life force energy is focused to bring balance between mind and body. It does not use the practitioner’s energy or transfer energy with the client. Instead, the practitioner’s hands are used to direct the life force energy that is present all around and within us to:
Encourage deep rest and parasympathetic nervous system activation
Support interoceptive awareness (your ability to sense internal states)
Allow stored tension and emotional holding patterns to soften
Our bodies are intelligent! In this state of deep presence and peace, your cells can do what they’re designed to do: heal and rebalance.
Reiki can be understood as the current, while the chakras are the channels through which that current flows.
I use the chakra system as a map for working with reiki energy to sense where energy is excessive or deficient.

Why tend to your energetic body?
We’ve been cut off from understanding our True nature. Educated to see the world and ourselves as solely material objects to be controlled or in control, we’ve confused control for Freedom, thereby sacrificing our access to consciousness far greater than anything which could be materially exploited or extracted.
This violent worldview teaches us that Freedom means having power over — our emotions, our bodies, other people, and nature itself — causing serious imbalances and illness.
In reality, we are beings of energy as much as we are beings of matter. Ancient mystical traditions across the world recognized this truth and created practices to tend to the energetic body. When this subtle dimension is cared for, we move through life with greater balance and receptivity, opening ourselves to a vast field of connection and information that nourishes every aspect of our lives.

What is the chakra system?
The earliest references to chakras appear in Vedic and Upanishadic texts (circa 1500–500 BCE) in ancient India. Today’s Western adaptation of the seven centers of consciousness has become a map for linking somatic experience with emotional and psychological patterns. The seven centers are:
Root (Muladhara): Safety, stability, belonging
Sacral (Svadhisthana): Emotion, sexuality, creativity
Solar Plexus (Manipura): Will, autonomy, power
Heart (Anahata): Love, connection, grief
Throat (Vishuddha): Expression, truth, resonance
Third Eye (Ajna): Insight, imagination, symbol
Crown (Sahasrara): Divinity, Understanding
